Lam Jalalah Rules

The lam in اللَّه is thick (tafkhim) if preceded by fatha/damma, thin (tarqiq) if preceded by kasra.

Allāhu (thick)

بِاللَّهِ

billāhi (thin)

عَبْدُ اللَّهِ

abdu llāhi (thick)

لِلَّهِ

lillāhi (thin)

رَسُولُ اللَّهِ

rasūlu llāhi (thick)

فِي اللَّهِ

fī llāhi (thin)
